Murphy’s Big Rivers 2017 Chardonnay, Trentham Estate, New South Wales.
Fruity and well flavoured in the typical aussie style, lightly oaked and very moreish! This harks back to the good old days of easy drinking well flavoured chardonnays.
Trentham Estate is a first class producer making wines at Trentham Cliffs on the border between Victoria and New South Wales. Founded by winemaker Anthony Murphy in 1988 on 50 hectares of riverfront, the winery now produce 1200 tonnes of fruit annually. Mr Murphy believes in letting the fruit speak for itself and his experimentation with lesser known varieties such as viognier and nebbiolo gives his wines both distinction and rarity. Wines for the Murphy’s label are sourced from the region and are made in the same uncompromising way as the estate wines, with the emphasis on clean unadulterated fruit. The chardonnay has a small percentage of oak ageing. for more info visit www.trenthamestate.co.au
